Creating a draft set

For the upcoming Swedish National Draft Championships its time to try something new. Isak and Ida have created a customized draft set and have worked hard gathering all ~3000 cards for it.

Now its late night work sorting, sleeving, distributing and packing everything but in the end it will hopefully be worth all the work.

  1. Nice idea.
Maybe you should allow the older players in your playgroup to 'donate' the staple cards and any cards that players don't want get donated back to the "Drafting Box".

  2. Let me know how it goes and what you did to make the draft boosters. I would like to draft more, but cards are not as available as they were. I also would like to avoid paying a bunch of money for cards ;)

  3. You can see the draft set here: http://vekn.net/index.php/forum/25-europe/34575-swedish-national-championship-2012#37902

The cards drafted were only for borrowing during the event and Isak has set a goal of collecting all cards needed for the set himself and have it ready all the time. There are two great advantages of this:

    1. People don't need to pay for cards that most of them don't want in the first place.
    2. The draft is replayable an infinite amount of times.

We had a great time playing and I mostly heard positive feedback although everyone was agreeing that Minion Tap should be excluded.

Personally I think it was the most fun set I have ever drafted because of it being designed with nothing but drafting in mind. And I got to play a Samedi/Assamite deck utilizing 7 different disciplines!
